Google rises in the private space: The search engine operators engaged in a satellite, the current and future sharp images of the earth shoot.
The approximately 340 million euros expensive satellite GeoEye-1 will take place on Thursday from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California shot into orbit and is at an altitude of some 680 kilometers around the Earth orbit.
One day, the satellite just photographing the surface of Germany - with unprecedented resolution.
Color images, the American company GeoEye with a resolution of 1.65 meters per pixel shoot, black and white images even with 0.41 meters per pixel. Google uses only photos of 50 centimeters per pixel - for privacy reasons.
This could be the future of Google Earth: detailed color images, the world completely covered and each image is updated monthly.
